The following are accepted forms of payment: Visa, MasterCard, American Express.
The minimum credit hold is $500. If the estimated total is above $500, an authorization on your credit card will be placed for the entire amount of the rental. Unused authorizations will be released upon return of the vehicle. These funds will no longer be available for your immediate use and may take up to 14 days, depending on your bank, to become available. We will not be responsible for any returned checks or insufficient fund charges or bank fees related to this process.
Cash, Debit and Stored Value/Prepaid/Gift Cards are not acceptable to qualify for rental for any type of vehicle. Deposit. We may use Your deposit, if any, to pay amounts owed to Us under this Agreement. “Loss of Use” means the loss of Our ability to use the Vehicle for any reason, due to damage to it or loss of it, during this transaction; Loss of Use equals a reasonable estimate of the income We lost while the Vehicle was out of service for repair or replacement.
THE MINIMUM AGE OF THE RENTER OR ANY ADDITIONAL DRIVER IS 21, WITH A VALID DRIVER’S LICENSE AND MAJOR CREDIT CARD IN THEIR NAME. 21-24 YEAR OLD DRIVERS MAY ONLY RENT ECONOMY, COMPACT, INTERMEDIATE, STANDARD OR FULL SIZED CARS. AN UNDERAGE DRIVER FEE WILL BE CHARGED FOR ALL 21-24 YEARS OLD RENTERS AND ADDITIONAL DRIVERS.
All drivers must meet the renting location’s minimum age requirements, have a valid driver’s license, clean driving record, and present a major credit card in his/her own name at the time of rental. All customers must also present a second form of ID
Proof of auto insurance is required. U.S. auto insurance is accepted as long as an individual is a visitor in Canada. U.S. insurance firms will issue a Canadian insurance card, which should be obtained and carried prior to driving into Canada.
Holders of a Montreal driver’s license are not allowed to drive outside of Ontario.
Holders of a driver’s license from outside Ontario need an additional contact.
Must have a valid drivers license from renters/drivers country of origin. Must have a valid passport. Must have a valid international drivers license if the drivers license of origin is not in Roman alphabet.
Condition and Return of Vehicle. You must return the Vehicle to Our office or other location We specify, on the date and time specified in this Agreement, in the same condition that You received it, except for ordinary wear. If the Vehicle is returned after closing hours, You remain responsible for any damage to the Vehicle until We inspect it on reopening for business. Service to the Vehicle or replacement of parts or accessories during this rental must have Our prior approval.
Responsibility for Damage or Loss; Reporting to Police. You are responsible for all damage to, or loss or theft of, the Vehicle, including damage caused by weather, road conditions, and acts of nature, whether or not You are at fault. You are responsible for the cost of repair, or the actual cash retail value of the Vehicle, on the date of the loss if the Vehicle is stolen, not repairable, or if We elect not to repair the Vehicle. You are also responsible for Loss of Use, and Our administrative expenses incurred processing the claim. You are responsible for replacing missing equipment and Vehicle documents. You must check and maintain all fluid levels. You must report all accidents or incidents of theft and vandalism to Us and the police as soon as You discover them.
Prohibited Uses. The following uses of the Vehicle are prohibited and constitute breaches of this Agreement. The Vehicle shall not be used: (a) by anyone who is not an Authorized Driver or not licensed to drive, or by anyone whose driving license is suspended; (b) by anyone under the influence of alcohol, prescription or non-prescription drugs; (c) by anyone who obtained the Vehicle, or extended the rental period by giving Us false, fraudulent, or misleading information; (d) under any circumstances that could be properly charged as a crime other than a minor traffic violation; (e) to carry persons or property for hire; (f) to push or tow anything; (g) in any race or speed contest; (h) to teach anyone how to drive; (i) outside the United States or the geographic area described elsewhere in this Agreement; (j) on any unpaved surface; (k) when the odometer has been tampered with or disconnected; (l) when it is reasonable to expect You to know that further operation of the Vehicle would damage it; (m) where applicable, by anyone who lacks experience driving a vehicle equipped with manual transmission; and (n) to transport an animal.
Your Property. You release Us, Our agents and employees from all claims for loss of, or damage to, Your personal property or that of any other person, that We received, handled or stored, or that was left or carried in or on the Vehicle or in any service vehicle or in Our offices, whether or not the loss or damage was caused by Our negligence or was otherwise Our responsibility.
Breach of Agreement. You waive all recourse against Us for criminal prosecutions We take against You for breach of this Agreement
Taxes, Fees and Surcharges will vary by location and are included in your approximate total.
Vehicles must be returned with the same amount of fuel as at the start of rental to avoid refueling charges or NAVE Car Rental will refuel your vehicle based on the miles driven or level of the tank. A refueling fee will apply per litre.
Location must be notified at time of rental when driving out of the originating province. Failure to notify location may result in additional penalties.
Local residents receive 300 free kilometers per day, 1,800 kilometers per week, and 6,000 kilometers (maximum) on 4 weeks and $0.38 CAD for each additional kilometer driven during the entire rental.
A CAD 10.00/day penalty fee applies for violations of this restriction.
For travel outside the Province of Ontario written permission is required at time of rental.
BORDER CROSSING: Vehicles are not allowed to enter to the USA
One Way Rental: One-way rentals are not permitted. The vehicle must be returned to the renting location.
Customers may receive a 29-minute grace period from the return time on the contract provided the return location is open during the grace period. If he/she keeps the vehicle after this time an hourly rate will apply from minute one.
To help ensure a pleasant rental experience for all NAVE Car Rental has no smoking policy on all our vehicles.. Each vehicle will be confirmed “smoke-free” when it is provided to a customer. Upon it’s return, it will be inspected. If it is determined that the vehicle must be cleaned of smoke odor and residue, the renter will be assessed a fee of up to $350.00.Smoking of any kind is strictly prohibited inside the vehicles. Even if the car only smells of weed or cigarette smoke, a cleaning fee will be deducted.
You are responsible for paying all parking, traffic violations and tolls incurred while using the vehicle. If you incur a violation or toll during the rental our agent will process and bill you for fines associated with the violations/toll. In addition to any violation fees you will also be charged a $35.00 Administration fee per violation/toll. These items will be billed directly to the credit card that was used for the rental transaction. Charges will appear as a separate line item on your credit card or bank statement.
In Canada the law requires full comprehensive coverage, i.e. Liability (PAC) and Collision Insurance, on all vehicles. Purchase of these products is optional if written proof of coverage is presented at time of rental. THE RENTER MUST PROVIDE PROOF IN THE FORM OF AN INSURANCE DECLARATION PAGE, SPECIFICALLY STATING COMPREHENSIVE AND COLLISION COVERAGE IS EFFECTIVE AND ENFORCED FOR THE DURATION OF THE RENTAL AGREEMENT (this also applies to the coverage that may be provided through credit card companies and third party companies that will be used at the time of rental). An insurance declaration page is the document that defines your coverage and limits. Insurance cards WILL NOT satisfy the requirement to provide an insurance declaration page for self-insurance
CDW – Collision Damage Waiver: Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) reduces your financial liability for damage to the vehicle, its parts, and accessories except for theft, attempted theft, or vandalism, provided the vehicle is used in accordance with the terms and conditions of the rental agreement. When purchasing the Collision Damage Waiver, any damage to the vehicle up to the insurance deductible amount will be charged to your credit card at return. In case of an accident, whether you are at fault or not, a deductible based on CDW amount of ($1000-$3000) must be paid by the renter.
Rentals not extended will incur a $15 per day late fee.
Rentals cannot exceed 30 days.
If relying solely on credit card or third party collision coverage, a comprehensive coverage surcharge of CAD 11.95/day will be applied to all credit card or insurance purchased online in order to meet the required comprehensive coverage. If you have purchased or are relying on a third party collision protection any damage to the vehicle will be estimated and charged to your credit card at return. Once repairs are completed final payment will be settled with renter and third party insurance
You must call the location directly to extend your rental prior to the due date and time.
If extended, additional authorization will be taken if the new amount is above the original authorization.
Renter must be 23 years of age with a valid drivers license and a major credit card in his/her own name. Drivers who are 23-24 years of age may rent Compact, Mid-Size, and Full sized cars with an additional $19.99 per day surcharge.
All drivers must meet minimum age requirements, present a valid photo drivers license and credit card in his/her own name. All location policies that apply to the renter will also apply to the additional driver. The additional driver fee is $10 CAD per day/per driver.
At locations in Canada, you may be asked to provide an additional form of identification as a condition to rent a vehicle. Acceptable forms of additional identification are:
Military ID Certificate of Indian Status Canadian passport Canadian Permanent Resident Card Foreign passport that meets the requirements Nexus or Fast/Express card Non-driver’s license issued by a province or territory ID card issued by the federal government, provincial or territorial government Credit card (other than the one being used for payment of rental) in Customer’s name.
If the renter does not respond within 24 hours of the company's first contact, according to the contract, vehicle recovery operations will begin, and the recovery cost will be the renter's responsibility. The recovery fee is $800 within the GTA and $1,600 outside the GTA.
